Men’s Soccer Comes up Short in Game 1 of National Tournament

Southern Maine Community College faced off this afternoon against Florida College in the opening round of the USCAA men's soccer tournament. Florida College scored twice in the first half with the wind at their backs, but the Seawolves would continue to fight in the second half. Freshman Jonathan Coyne (Cumberland, ME) battled his way into Florida's box where he was tripped.  The foul gave way to a successful penalty kick by freshman Nick Broadhurst (Scarborough, ME) to make it 2-1. Florida College would score one more insurance goal in the 85th minute to end the game 3-1.

The Seawolves still have an opportunity to end their season with a win. The men take on Pennsylvania College of Technology tomorrow at 2:00pm at the John B. Lewis Complex on the Warren Wilson College campus.
