South Portland, ME - In this afternoon's men's soccer home opener the Seawolves faced off against a very talented Dean College team. Coach Dougher's young defense, with only one veteran defender, put up a good effort with freshman goalie Spencer Hoyt (Rochester, NH) racking up six saves. Despite a strong effort by the defense, they could not hold off the Bulldogs' offensive fire power as Dean pulled away with a 7-0 victory.

The seven Dean goals were scored by three members of the team with forward Javan Phillip scoring three, one coming by penalty kick, Marcos Tavares chipping in with two and Filipe Freitas adding two.

The Seawolves are now 0-1-0 and 0-0-0 in conference. They will be back in action at home on Wednesday September 3rd against Bridgton Academy at 4pm.
