SANFORD, Maine – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team scored a season-high five goals and kept the Hawks of York County Community College (YCCC) scoreless in their victory on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Junior Louis Sehr (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) collected three goals, completing a hat trick and adding to his team-leading goal count (6). First-year Jeannot Ndayishimiye (Portland, Maine) and second-year Ahmed Al Mshakheel (Biddeford, Maine), both scored their first goals of the season to lead the Seawolves to a 5-0 victory over the Hawks.
The Seawolves totaled 34 shots, landing 16 on goal. The Hawks managed 14 shots, landing four on target.
YCCC's goalkeeper, Ryen Royce totaled 21 saves; SMCC's goalkeeper, Ian Allen (Avon, Maine) grabbed four saves.
The Seawolves boosted their record to 4-2 on the season, 2-0 in conference play.
Next, the Seawolves travel to Word of Life Bible Institute in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) matchup on Saturday, Sept. 28. Kickoff in Pottersville, New York is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
