Fifth Place Game

#4 Berkeley (NY) 100, #7 Southern Maine CC 74

UNIONTOWN, PA - All-American Jose Stable had another big game with his 26 points and 19 rebounds to lead Berkeley to a fifth place finish at the Men's Division II National Tournament. Jovan Bovell added 21 points for the Knights, who had five players score in double figures. Southern Maine was led by Jose Nouchanthavong with 17 points.  Berkeley led by as many as 31 points in the second half.

#7 Southern Maine CC 66, #3 Williamson 63

UNIONTOWN, PA - Coleman Findley scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Southern Maine over Williamson 66-63, Fifth Place Consolation Bracket action.  Williamson's Reggie Richardson missed a three point shot at the end of regulation that would of sent the game into overtime.  Richardson led Williamson with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  The Seahawks bench outscored Williamson's 45-12.  Southern Maine will play Berkeley for fifth place, Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Quarter Final Round

#2 UC-Clermont 109, #7 Southern Maine CC 76

UNIONTOWN, PA - UC-Clermont's Adrian Graves scored 32 points, 21 in the first half to lead the Cougars to victory over Southern Maine CC, 109-76 in the quarterfinal round of the USCAA National Tournament.  Graves also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists.  Travis Donald added 14 points and ten rebounds for Clermont.  Josh Mackie led the Seawolves with 19 points.  UC-Clermont will play NHTI in the semi-finals, Friday at 1:15 p.m.  Southern Maine CC will play Williamson in the Fifth Place Consolation Bracket, Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Women's Fifth Place Consolation Bracket

#9 PSU Brandywine 83, #12 Southern Maine CC 54

UNIONTOWN, PA - PSU Brandywine took control of the game early and never looked back as they defeated Southern Maine CC 83-54 in the opening Women's Fifth Place Consolation Bracket game.  Amber Chandler led the Lady Lions with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Alisa Sweet led the Lady Sea Wolves with 19 points and 8 rebounds.  PSU Brandywine will play The Apprentice School for ninth place, Friday at 11:00 a.m.

First Round Action at the USCAA National Basketball Tounament

#5 Spalding 94, #12 Southern Maine CC 38

UNIONTOWN, PA - Spalding had a balanced offensive attack with four players in double digits as they defeated #12 Southern Maine CC 94-38 in the Opening Round of the USCAA National Women's Tournament.  Kelly Harrod was the leading scorer for the Golden Eagles with 18 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.  The Seawolves were led by Alisa Sweet who scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds.  Spalding will play #4 Southern Virginia, Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. 

7 Southern Maine CC 84 , #10 PSU Fayette 73

UNIONTOWN, PA - Coleman Findley led the way for Southern Maine with 29 points as the Seawolves defeated PSU Fayatte 84-73 in the Opening Round of the USCAA Men's Division II National Tournament.  Matt Findley added nine points, seven rebounds, and five assists for the victors.  David Winns led PSU Fayette with 25 points and 12 rebounds.  Southern Maine will play #2 UC-Clermont, Thursday night at 9:30 p.m.
