South Portland - The defensive intensity by the Lady Seawolves forced the Lady Rams of Unity College into 52 turnovers as the Seawolves came out with the 91-24 victory in tonight's YSCC women's basketball matchup.
All nine Lady Seawolves found their way into the scoring column in tonight's contest. Leading the way was Danielle McCusker (South Portland, ME) who netted 18 points to go along with six rebounds, six assists and six steals. Point guard Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) neared a double double with 14 points and nine assists and forward Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) racked up a double double with 11 points and 11 steals. Zyrah Giustra (New Sharon, ME) knocked in 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Chandler Waterman (Berwick, ME), Jaimi Poland (Skowhegan, ME) and Maria Veino (Sanford, ME) each chipped in with nine points.
Pacing the Lady Rams was center Candace Robinson (Aurora, IL) who scored 10 points and grabbed 10 boards.
With this conference win the Lady Seawolves improve to 11-1 in YSCC action and 15-5 overall. The Lady Seawolves will return to action on Saturday February 1st at home against the University of Maine - Presque Isle at 1pm.
