Lady Seawolves Win Final Game of the Season

RECORDS: Southern Maine Community College 21-9, Berkeley College (NY) 13-11

LOCATION: 2015 USCAA Basketball National Championship, Uniontown, Pennsylvania 

IN BRIEF: #6 Southern Maine Community College defeated #7 Berkeley College (NY) 62-57 to finish their tournament with a record of 1-1. Honorable Mention All-American, Amira Jones, led the Seawolves with a team-high 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. 

ON THE COURT: The Seawolves used efficient offense and defense in the first half to take a 35-23 lead going into halftime. Led by Amira Jones the Seawolves shot 47% with 24 points coming in the paint.  The Seawolves also held a commanding 33-16 rebounding advantage while only allowing the Knights to shoot 25% from the field.

In the second half, the Seawolves saw their lead swell to as large as 15, however the Knights were able to chip away as the half continued. 2nd Team All-American, Champagne Hazel scored 17 of her game-high 26 points in the second half to get her team back into the game, but the Knights could not get any closer than 2 as the Seawolves hit their free throws down the stretch to seal the game.

Also leading the Seawolves to victory was guard Jordan Tuner who finished with 5 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. 

Helping with the load for Berkeley College (NY) was Patricia Patterson who finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
