SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team won its fourth consecutive game and its second this week over the Bobcats from Paul Smith's College on Saturday, Jan. 15.

The SeaWolves' offense turned in a balanced scoresheet with five in double figures. First-year Hannah Richards (Bradley, Maine) led the way with 16 points, connecting for five three-pointers; sophomore captain Ashleigh Mathisen (Portland, Maine) totaled 15, also tallying five threes.

Paul Smith's Jordan Louis entered the game leading the conference in scoring averaging 20.3 PPG; the SMCC defense held her to just nine on 2-22 shooting. Playing stingy defense throughout, the SeaWolves allowed the opposition to single digit scoring in three separate quarters.

The result jumps SMCC to the top of the conference standings at 6-1 in league play, 11-2 overall. Paul Smith's sports a 2-5 YSCC record, 4-5 overall.

The SeaWolves continue their home stand with a make-up against the Lynx from NHTI on Monday, Jan. 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. **No spectators allowed.
