Lady SeaWolves Sweep Series With Great Bay CC

PORTSMOUTH, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team swept the conference regular season series with the Herons of Great Bay Community College, earning a 92-9 result on the road Friday, Jan. 21

First-years Kyla Greenleaf (Topsham, Maine) and Maddy York (Nobleboro, Maine) led the way with 18 points apiece, followed by first-year guard Allexius Thebere (Standish, Maine) who piled in 14. Coming off a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week selection, sophomore captain Tara Flanders (Windham, Maine) contributed nine to help the SeaWolves to their sixth consecutive win.

SMCC remains atop the conference board at 8-1 in league action, 13-2 overall. Great Bay dips to 0-9 YSCC, 1-10 overall.

The SeaWolves turn around to host the USCAA Div. 1 Bobcats from Bryant and Stratton- Albany on Saturday, Jan. 22. Tip-off inside The HUB is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. **No spectators permitted.
