York Goes For Season High, Seawolves Stay Perfect In YSCC Action

RANDOLPH, Vt.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team took care of Vermont Technical College 67-26 on Saturday, Dec. 10 to stay perfect in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) play.

The Seawolves netted double-digit scoring efforts in every quarter, holding the opposition to 26.2 percent shooting from the floor. SMCC generated 30 points off the bench and connected near 40 percent from beyond the arc as a team.

Sophomore captain Maddy York (Nobleboro, Maine) splashed five three-pointers on her way to a season-high 27 points. She added seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists to a complete stat line. Junior Hope Butler (Rockland, Maine) chipped in 14 points off the bench.

Coreeahn Yharborough led Vermont with nine points and four assists.

The result moves SMCC to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in conference. Vermont slips to 2-5, 1-3 YSCC.

The Seawolves will round out the first semester on Wednesday, Dec. 14 when they host the undefeated Mustangs from Central Maine Community College. Tip-off at The HUB is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. WATCH
