SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team fell to Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) rival Central Maine Community College (CMCC) 73-40 at The HUB on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The Seawolves were outscored in the first quarter by a 9-point margin but matched CMCC's point total in the second. The production by the road team in the third quarter was the spell that created an insurmountable deficit for SMCC. The Seawolves recorded a season-low 20.8 percent on 53 attempts from the field. CMCC capitalized on points-off-turnovers with 41.

Sophomore Maddy York (Nobleboro, Maine) recorded 15 points, her seventh consecutive game in double-figures. First-year Jaylyn Bartolome (Sanford, Maine) finished with 14 points and three rebounds.
