Title: Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Abby Young will begin her second season as Assistant Coach of the women's basketball program.

A Maine native, Young graduated from St. Joseph’s College (Maine) in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. There she achieved the 1,000-point mark as a member of the women’s basketball team and accumulated numerous other accolades to include a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference selection, GNAC All-Academic honors, and a GNAC Tournament MVP (2014) among others.

Following St. Joseph’s, Young went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Developmental Psychology at Oxford Brookes University (Oxford, England), a BUCS Division I institution. At Oxford, Young excelled as a member of the women’s basketball team and, from the forward position, earned herself National Basketball League Midlands South West Player of the Year recognition in 2015.

Now on the sidelines, Young began her coaching career as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Oxford Brookes for a one season term in 2015. Upon returning home to Maine, Young served as the Junior Varsity Basketball Coach at Maine Girls’ Academy and, prior to joining the SeaWolves staff, as the Upper Girls Head Coach of the Maine Renegades AAU Basketball program.

Young currently works as a Cognitive Retraining Specialist at NeuroRestorative in Standish, Maine.
