Women's Soccer Shuts Out EMCC

Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) earned a solid victory over Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) 3-0.  The Seawolves limited EMCC to just three shots over ninety minutes.  Freshman forward Bethany Gullbrand (Portland, ME) scored the first goal for SMCC in the fourth minute of play.  In the fortieth minute, the Seawolves got a goal from freshman Molly Gallagher (Portland, ME) assisted by Noelle Cooper (Scarborough, ME).  Senior Cady Gagnon (Biddeford, ME) scored the final goal off an assist from Ali Waterman (Cumberland, ME) with five minutes remaining in the game. 

Freshman goalkeeper Kristal Saavedra (Portland, ME) performed well for the Seawolves, recording three saves in the shutout. 

SMCC is now 5-3 overall.  They travel to University of Maine-Machias on Saturday, October 8 for a 1:00 PM game.  The Seawolves look to avenge their September 30 loss to Machias 3-1.
