Women’s Soccer Shuts Out NHTI

SMCC beat NHTI 5-0 in the first home game of the season.  Sophomores Nicole Poland and Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME) scored early for the Seawolves.  SMCC controlled the ball and the tempo for most of the game. Freshman Callie Day (Porter, ME) performed well in goal filling in for injured keeper Kristal Saavedra.  Day tallied twelve saves in the win. Senior Cady Gagnon (Biddeford , ME) once again led the Seawolves offense with two goals and two assists.

The win brings the overall record to 2-1. Next game is on the road for the Seawolves when they travel to Eastern Maine Community College on September 22.
