Clough Scores Game Winner, Seawolves Headed to Semifinals

South Portland - This afternoon the second seed Seawolves and the third seed Rams of Unity College battled for the fourth consecutive year in the YSCC Postseason Quarterfinals. In the previous three meetings the Rams have prevailed, eliminating the Seawolves from postseason player, but tonight SMCC was able to get redemption. After 86 scoreless, frigid minutes Seawolves forward Sarah Clough (Mount Vernon, ME) chipped one over the head of Rams' goalie Ashia Pryor to give SMCC the 1-0 victory.

The Seawolves dominated the offensive side of the ball, chalking up 28 shots on the afternoon compared to just five by Unity. Ten of those shots were credited to Clough while teammates Kym Hendrix (Waterboro, ME) and Hannah Fields (Shapleigh, ME) combined for 14 shots, including eight shots on goal.

With this win the Seawolves advance to the YSCC Final Four hosted by NHTI on October 24th and 25th. Their first game will be against NHTI on their home turf on the 24th at a time to be determined.
