Seawolves Down NHTI, Set to Face UMM in Championship

Concord, NH - This afternoon the Lady Seawolves punched their ticket to the YSCC Championship game with a 2-0 victory over the Lynx of NHTI. The Seawolves now have the opportunity to capture the YSCC title for the first time in program history.

In this afternoon's game the Lynx were able to hold the Seawolves scoreless for the entire first half but at the 62:10 mark SMCC forward Kym Hendrix (Waterboro, ME) scored a solo goal to give the Seawolves a 1-0 lead. Midfielder Hannah Fields (Shapleigh, ME) padded the lead with a goal of her own in the 76th minute to secure the 2-0 win.

In the championship game the Seawolves will battle the number one seed UMaine-Machias. The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-2 deadlock so it should be interesting, competitive championship match. The game will be held at NHTI tomorrow, OCtober 25th at 11am.
