Matt Wright will begin his second season with the SeaWolves baseball program, and first as the Director of Baseball Operations. His primary focus will be to assist the coaching staff in recruiting and practice planning, monitor team academic progress, and conduct and present scouting reports with data analysis.
A Vermont native, Wright graduated from Springfield High School in 2013 as a varsity baseball captain—also participating in basketball and football. He attended Castleton University where he played baseball for one year before transferring to the University of Southern Maine to finish his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management.
Wright served as a varsity assistant coach for his alma mater Springfield High School in 2014 and again in 2018. He managed at the Babe Ruth level for four seasons (2012-16) and helped build a new legion baseball program in Ludlow, Vermont which he most recently managed from 2016-18.
In the offseason, Wright works for the Upper Valley Nighthawks of the NECBL as the Assistant General Manager.
