    SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Three members of the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball team were selected to the 2017 Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) All-Conference Team. First-year Kaylah Abdul (South Berwick, Maine) headlined the voting earned Player of the Year status and first-year Kristen Mackenzie (Seabrook, N.H.) and sophomore Elle Burbank (Bethel, Maine) secured two more spots on the nine-player list.

The Lady SeaWolves completed a come-from-behind win in the first game 12-10 and put together another offensive showing in the second game, winning 10-2 in five innings.

A native of South Berwick, Maine and graduate of Marshwood High School, Abdul truly embodies what it means to be a student-athlete at SMCC.

    SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—This new-look softball team will return just three players from last year’s squad in Samantha Rioux (Lewiston, Maine), Danielle Goodwin (South Berwick, Maine), and Lindsay Marston (Rumford, Maine). First-year Head Coach Ray Magnant will look to improve on the team’s 4-23 overall record a season ago when the Lady SeaWolves hit .285 as a team on their way to scoring 106 runs.
