SMCC Student-Athletes Achieve 2.72 GPA

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—Southern Maine Community College student-athletes achieved an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.72 at the conclusion of the 2016 fall semester.

The total number of fall student-athletes was 93, spanning seven sport offerings. All student-athletes are required to be full-time students, meaning a full course load of 12 or more credits per semester, and must also meet United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) normal progress standards of academic compliance.

40 percent of all student-athletes this semester earned a GPA of 3.0 or above. The coaching staffs of SMCC Athletics congratulate their student-athletes for their efforts on the playing field and in the classroom.

SMCC’s spring semester is set to begin Tuesday, January 17.
