The report shows student-athlete GPAs and retention rates based on United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) normal progress rules for athletic participation eligibility—a higher threshold than those standards of the College.

- Overall student-athlete GPA: 2.98 (.08 better than fall 2023)
- Fall 2024-Spring 2025 USCAA retention rate: 94.57% (4.57 percent better than fall 2023)
- Student-athletes earning a 3.0 GPA or better: 76 (56.3% of total student-athletes)
- Best team GPA: softball (3.45)
- 100% retention rates: women’s volleyball, softball, women’s basketball, women’s golf
- Student-athletes earning a 4.0 semester GPA: 11
In strategic review of the data Wells stated, “Our 2.98 department GPA is the highest mark since tracking the data from spring 2014. I’m extremely proud of this effort made by our student-athletes in meeting the demands both on the playing surface and in the classroom. This achievement also belongs to our coaching staff who serve in mentorship roles and embrace all of the positive traditions of SMCC athletics. I look forward to another successful semester in the spring!”
