SeaWolves Unveil 2020 Hall of Fame Class

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Athletics enshrined three individuals and one team as its Hall of Fame class of 2020 by video announcement on Friday, Nov. 6. After careful consideration of all nominees, the Hall of Fame Selection Committee named Nick Anagnostis, Ali Waterman, Jose Nouthanthavong and the 2007-08 Men’s Basketball Team to join an elite group of 36 individuals and one team for their accomplishments on the playing surface and in the SMCC Athletics community.

This year, the inductees were unveiled by video announcement MC’d by Director of Athletics Matt Richards. The 2020 Hall of Fame class will join the 2021 class and be celebrated with a formal induction ceremony next fall.

Nick Anagnostis (Baseball)

During his seasons of play, Nick was named a First Team Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) selection and a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Honorable Mention All-American in the same season (2006). His career was highlighted with back-to-back conference championships and all-time top 10 rankings to include a .421 batting average (3rd), 77 RBIs (4th), 80 hits (8th), and 5 home runs (T-8th).

Ali Waterman (Women’s Soccer)

Ali Waterman is a 2013 Liberal Studies- Art concentration graduate and three-year member of the women’s soccer program. A center back, Ali was the catalyst who helped the defensive unit to a sub 1.84 goals-against-average that held for the duration of her career and contributed to three straight YSCC postseason births. She was named team captain in 2013 and was selected a USCAA Honorable Mention All-American in the same season.

2007-08 Men’s Basketball Team

This team captured a YSCC championship and took home four YSCC All-Conference selections. The SeaWolves held a #1 ranking in the USCAA Coaches Poll for three consecutive weeks and earned an automatic bid to the USCAA National Tournament capped with a trip to the Final Four semi-final game—a feat only done twice in program history. SeaWolf guard Chris Banks was named a USCAA First Team All-American and was inducted into the USCAA National Hall of Fame in 2018.
