Amira came to SMCC after graduating from Chicopee High School in Massachusetts where she helped her basketball team win the Western Mass Championship in 2013. This year, in her first five collegiate games, Amira has shown she is a force to be reckoned with on the college level. She currently averages team highs in both points per game (12.6) and rebounds per game (11.7). Her 11.7 rebounds rank her 1st in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) and 5th in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). Jones also leads the YSCC and the USCAA in free throw attempts this season with 39 and is currently shooting 74.4% from the charity stripe.
The Lady Seawolves will look to Jones to continue to be as leader as they begin their conference schedule on Saturday 11/15 at home against Vermont Technical College at 1pm.
