As a freshman forward on the women's basketball team, Nyalieb Deng, is making a great first impression on the court. She has contributed in all games and is leading her team and the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) in field goal percentage with 54%. As a native of Portland, Deng is currently studying Physical Therapy and plans on transferring to the University of New England (UNE) after SMCC to get her bachelors degree. She has found SMCC's basketball program to have a great atmosphere. Deng has enjoyed playing with her team mates who have become like family to her.
