USCAA Announces All American Selections

USCAA Announces All American Selections

Three Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Soccer student-athletes received All-American Honorable Mention honors as released by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) national office. Peter Dore (Westbrook, ME), Kyle Ehlers (Ludlow, VT) and Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) join a group of student athletes to be recognized across the country.

Team Captain, Peter Dore, is a two-time YSCC All-Conference honoree and was voted YSCC Player of the Week on September 10th. He played as a forward and center midfielder for most of the 2012 season.  Dore led SMCC in goals and total points.

Midfielder Kyle Ehlers is a three-time Academic All-American and was voted YSCC Player of the Week on October 15th. He is one of the best utility players to go through the program as he filled every role for the team except goalkeeper.

Freshman forward Michela Desjardins has proved to be an offensive threat from day one. Her statistics placed her second in the YSCC in Goals, Total Points and Shot on Goal Percentage. Even after missing the final three games due to injury, her numbers were still high enough to place her among the top ten in the nation for total goals and points scored.
