Appointed in August of 2017, Daniels comes to SMCC from Norfolk State University (Norfolk, Va.) where she completed her graduate assistant work as an athletic trainer at the Division I level—managing prevention, treatment, education, and rehabilitation programs specifically for the Spartan’s softball and football programs.

Prior to Norfolk State, Daniels worked as an Athletic Training Intern at both Radford University (Radford, Vt.) and Saint Michael’s College (Colchester, Vt.) where she served a variety of sports programs to include cross country, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, and alpine skiing.

A native of Scarborough, Maine, Daniels has considerable experience providing care at athletic camps and clinics both at the youth and collegiate level.

Daniels graduated from the University of Vermont (Burlington, Vt.) with her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2013 and went on to earn her master’s degree at Old Dominion University (Norfolk, Va.) completed in May 2017. She has also served as a Teaching Assistant at both of her alma maters in Anatomical Kinesiology and Fundamentals of Athletic Training.

Daniels is published in the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation for her research on The Effects of Low-Intensity Therapeutic Ultrasound on Measureable Outcomes. She has also submitted another piece for publication entitled Intra and Inter-Rater Reliability of Diagnostic Ultrasound in Athletic Trainers to National Athletic Trainers Association Free Communications.

Daniels received her Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) in 2013 and is a NATA Certified Member of the Maine Association of Athletic Trainers.

During her tenure at SMCC, Daniels has instituted new directed initiatives to include mental health and diet and has expanded the scope of rehabilitation assignments. In addition to her duties on the sidelines, Daniels serves as an adjuct faculty professor in the Health Sciences degree program at the College and works for Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
