Knights take down Seawolves, earn trip to YSCC Men's Championship 

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (YSCC) -- The Knights of Vermont Tech beat Southern Maine Community College 86-75, and earn a trip to the Yankee Small College Conference Men's Basketball Championship.

Led by YSCC Player of the Year Jeremiah Shaw, the Knights never trailed SMCC after the midway point of the first half. Shaw dazzled with 25 points (4 of 8 from 3-point-land) 7 rebounds and 4 assists. 

The Seawolves got off to a fast start thanks to the play of YSCC All-Conference Second Team member Pedro Fonseca. Fonseca had seven points and ran the floor, helping SMCC to 7-2 lead. 

That didn't last long as Shaw as fellow YSCC All-Conference First Team member Drake Perry took over the rest of the way. Perry had 16 points and six rebounds for the game. 

The Seawolves fought had in the second, feeding off the athletic play of YSCC First Team All-Conference player Anthony Lobor. Lobor finished with a double-double, hitting for 19 points and grabbing 11 boards. 

The Knights starting five dominated the stat sheet all night long. They finished with nearly 50% shooting from the field, including 45% from 3-point-range. 

Dajuan Johnson finished with 19 points and YSCC Second Team All-Conference member Chance Cole added 16 points. 

The Knights will face NHTI in the YSCC Championship tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.
