A three-year member of the men’s basketball program (2013-15, 2018-19), Atencio Martin achieved both regional and national recognition as a two-time Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) First Team All-Conference and two-time United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) First Team All-American selection. Martin was voted YSCC Player of the Year in 2019 and was named to the YSCC Twin Decades Team, a collection of the most talented players since the inception of the conference. Martin captained the team for two seasons (2015, 19) and made USCAA national tournament appearances in the same years. He totaled 1194 career points (13.7 ppg) as a Seawolf, ranking 6th all-time, converting at an impressive 53.1 percent clip. The Hall of Fame forward grabbed 668 rebounds (5th all-time), and collected 175 assists and 115 steals. Following his time at SMCC, the Maine native signed a professional contract with BC Gyumri in Armenia.
