SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team defeated the Wolverines from Bridgton Academy 4-1 in a non-conference game on Thursday, Apr. 18.

SMCC scored one in the first, another in the third and two more in the fourth inning. The Seawolves managed just five hits, but all were timely knocks to push runs across.

The Wolverines' Evan Gaffney drove in their only run with a groundout in the first inning—the Bridgton offense was too limited to five hits.

SMCC's Peter Keblinsky (Ellsworth, Maine), Brady Wintle (Gorham, Maine), and Liam Cooledge (Westbrook, Maine) all delivered RBIs. First-year Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine) worked two walks and scored both times to help his team to victory.

Sophomore starter Gabe Aucoin (Bath, Maine) threw two innings to earn the win; Bridgton's Hayden Nunley took the loss giving up four runs in 3.1 innings of work.

SMCC begins a new win streak and moves to 19-10 overall.

Next, the Seawolves travel to Quincy College to being a 3-game Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) series on Sunday, Apr. 21. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Adams Field (Quincy, Mass.).
