SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team was bested 76-68 by the Knights from Berkeley College on Sunday, Dec. 5— featuring two of the top-ranked United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) teams.

The SeaWolves took a 6-point deficit into the locker room at the half, and kept pace with the opposition to trail by three points in the later stages of regulation. The Knights gained separation with a 7-2 run before getting to the free-throw line inside the one-minute mark to put it out of reach for the home team.

Junior captain Ian Regan (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) led his team with 25 points in 37 minutes of action—adding 10 rebounds and three assists. Sophomore captain Zachary Mickle (Billerica, Mass.) tallied 10 points and sophomore captain Cameren Cousins (Wells, Maine) pulled down his usual 12 rebounds.

The Knight's backcourt, Aaron Walker Jr. and Dontel Henry, combined for 46 points on 18 of 33 shooting, and seven steals.

The result drops SMCC to 6-3 on the year; Berkeley stays perfect at 4-0.

The SeaWolves get back to work at The HUB in the first of two meetings with conference opponent Great Bay Community College on Wednesday, Dec. 8. Tip-off is scheduled at 8 p.m.
