AUBURN, Maine – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team suffered a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) loss at the hands of Central Maine Community College (CMCC) 73-54 on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The Mustangs took an early-game lead, leaving SMCC trailing 25-34 at the half. The Seawolves were unable to make up the difference, getting out-rebounded inside and not finding their rhythm from beyond the arc.

Sophomore captain Jack Pyzynski (Saco, Maine) finished with 12 points, his eighteenth double-digit scoring performance of the season.

Boston Caldwell and Wyatt Hathaway played well for the Mustangs, scoring 25 and 18 points respectively.

Head Coach Matt Richards stated, "A tough loss for us. We did not execute at a level that you need to in order to win end-of regular season games on the road."

The Seawolves dip to 16-8 overall and 8-5 within conference play.

The Seawolves will host the Knights from Vermont Technical College on Saturday, Feb. 18 in both teams' regular season finale. Tip-off at The HUB is set for 3:00 p.m. Before, Coach Richards and the Athletics Department will honor five graduating players for their leadership and dedication to the program— Jack Pyzynski, DeSean Cromwell, Luke Gabloff, Bode Meader, and Myles Brown.
