Men's Golf rolls onto another win in first home tournament

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine— In an exciting finish at Purpoodock Golf Club, the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's golf team emerged victorious in their first home tournament of the year, clinching the title with a total score of 237. The Seawolves edged out the University of Maine at Farmington by 10 strokes— the Seawolves' second team finished in third, giving SMCC two of the top three team finishes.

Leading the charge was Owen Lee (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), who delivered an impressive performance with a round of 77. Just behind him was Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine), who contributed a solid 78 to the team's total. Matthew Quigley (Benton, Maine) played a key role as well, adding an 82 to the mix, while Asa Buteau (Scarborough, Maine) rounded out the scoring shooting an 84. Lucas Inman (South Portland, Maine) finished the day on an 87.

The Seawolves' Blue Team put together a total score of 263. Alexander Watts (Saco, Maine) took the top spot with an 84. Christopher Keene (South Portland, Maine) and Brandon Chilton (Readfield, Maine) shot 89 and 91 respectively. Garrett Hedges (Auburn, Maine) added a 108.

SMCC showcased exceptional teamwork and skill, navigating the breezy course conditions with precision. This victory marks five wins for the Men's team this season.

The action continues for the men's team when they host their second home tournament this Thursday, September 26th at Purpoodock.
