Scott Nevers enters his second season as Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at Southern Maine Community College.

In his first season at the helm, Nevers led the men’s team to a YSCC Championship and their third consecutive USCAA National Tournament appearance in 2024. The squad posted a 317.0 scoring average and secured seven team victories. Nevers was recognized as YSCC Coach of the Year.

The women’s team also qualified for the USCAA National Tournament in 2024 under Nevers' leadership. The 2024 season included multiple Player of the Week awards and three individual first-place finishes by Charlotte Blanchard.

Prior to SMCC, Nevers held the role of Head Golf Coach at Gorham High School from 2017-2023. During his 7-year tenure, the program qualified for the State Championship event six times. Nevers left Gorham with a record of 46-22, and achieved multiple top-5 team finishes in both the boys and girls championship circuits—this including an individual state champion in 2017.

Nevers attended Gorham High School himself where he excelled as a four-year member of the varsity golf program. He continued his playing career at UMass Lowell (NCAA Div. 2) and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine in 2009.

A member at Val Halla Golf Club, Nevers sports a 2 handicap and plays in tournaments throughout the state including the Maine Amateur and Mid-Amateur.

In addition to his duties with SMCC, Nevers owns and operates Nevers Medical Group, a small business selling portable defibrillators. He resides in Scarborough.
