Seawolves Take Down the UMA Moose

South Portland, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team beat University of Maine-Augusta this afternoon 11-0. Despite the driving rain, ten different players contributed points for SMCC.

Leading the scoring drive was freshman forward Jonathan D'Haiti (South Portland, ME) with 3 goals and 1 assist. Sophomore midfielder Wadhah Al-Shammari (Portland, ME) contributed 2 goals and 2 assists. The other six SMCC goals came from freshmen Zach Napsey (Claremont, NH), Jacob Smith (Gorham, ME), Brandon Saucier (Portland, ME), Jake Freeman (Fayette, ME), Greg Charest (Claremont, NH) and sophomore Adam Burpee (South Portland, ME). Freshmen Kyle Stiefken (Vassalboro, ME) and Kyle Gaudreau (Westbrook, ME) along with Napsey, Smith and Freeman also contributed assists.

The Seawolves are now 8-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play. SMCC hosts conference foe UMaine-Machias this Saturday at 3:00 PM. Machias and SMCC sit at #1 and #2 respectively in the East Division of the Yankee Small College Conference.
