All nine players scored for Southern Maine Community College in a 56-33 win over conference-rival Central Maine Community College. The Seawolves played well on the defensive end too, limiting the Mustangs of Central Maine to just 12 second half points.
Freshman guard Emily Bard (Fort Kent, ME) led all scorers with 21 points and also contributed 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Freshman center Marissa Welch (Livermore, ME) put up another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Leading the Seawolves on both ends of the floor was sophomore point guard Hanna Lyons (Scarborough, ME). Lyons dished out 7 assists to just 2 turnovers, chipped in 6 points and took away 4 steals.
The Seawolves improve to 11-1 on the season and 8-0 in conference play. The women close out the first semester schedule with a home game this Saturday against Briarcliffe College at 1:00 pm.
