Seawolves Get Their First Conference Loss

Auburn, ME. The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team fell to rival Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Central Maine Community College (CMCC) tonight 84-51. CMCC had the hot hand from the beginning, outscoring SMCC in the first half 52-20.

Leading the way for the Seawolves was freshman forward Katryna Gilson (Portland, ME) and freshmen guard Rogetta Donalson (Hyannis, MA). Gilson had 10 points and 4 rebounds while Donalson had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Freshman forward Alicia Hoyt (Steep Falls, ME) chipped in 7 points and 4 rebounds. 

SMCC moves to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play.  The women are in action again this weekend. They will host Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) opponent Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) on Saturday December 8th. Game time is scheduled for noon.  The game is available to view on-line at http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/smcc.portal.
