Lady Seawolves Soar Past Golden Eagles

South Portland - The Lady Seawolves jumped out to a 15-0 lead, on 6-8 shooting, over the Lady Golden Eagles of Eastern Maine Community College in this afternoon's basketball action and never looked back. The Lady Seawolves were on top for the entire game, ending the contest with a score of 74-36.

18 seconds into regulation the Lady Seawolves set the tone with a made three pointer by point guard Esther Palmieri (South Portland, ME). Shooting guard Danielle McCusker (South Portland, ME) and forward Nyalieb Deng (Portland, ME) combined for the next 12 points, putting SMCC on top 15-0 before Lady Golden Eagle forward Carolyn Bess (LaGrange, ME) knocked in a free throw to stop the run at 15-1. 

The Lady Seawolves played a well-rounded team game putting ten of the eleven person roster in the score books. Pacing SMCC were guards Danielle McCusker and Jaimi Poland (Skowhegan, ME) who scored 15 and 14 respectively.

With this win the Lady Seawolves improve to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Lady Seawolves will be back in action on Tuesday November 26th at the University of Maine - Augusta at 6pm.
