It was a tight game from beginning to end with a total of six lead changes. The Seawolves managed to hold the lead at the end of each quarter despite shooting below their season average from the three-point arc. SMCC strung together its best offensive quarter in the second, posting 27.

Junior center Aija Andrews (Norwalk, Conn.) and junior captain Tara Flanders (Windham, Maine) lead the team in scoring with 20 and 19 points respectively. Flanders also put up 14 rebounds and six assists. Other noteworthy performances from the Seawolves included sophomore Maddy York's (Nobleboro, Maine) 13 points, and junior captain Bailey Whitney's (Norway, Maine) 18 rebounds.

UCAP's top players put in a good performance. Adeline Smith finished the game with 32 points and seven rebounds. Her teammates Francesca Foster and Jade Redo also notched 18 and 17 points as well as nine and eight rebounds respectively.

Seawolves' Head Coach Katie Stannard was happy with the win and her team's efforts despite some "in-game adversity". She also highlighted some effective leadership. "Our four juniors were tremendous leaders, but we also saw fearless and composed leadership at the point from freshman Kaitlyn Regan."

With the result of this game the Seawolves' record changes to 11-4 overall, their conference record remaining at 6-1.

The Seawolves play next at home against Paul Smith College at 1pm on Saturday, January 21.
