
The Southern Maine Community College women's soccer team split conference games this past weekend on the road. On Friday, the women traveled to UMaine-Machias to play under the lights. Machias won the match 3-0 and held the Seawolves to just 3 shots.
On Saturday, the team traveled to Eastern Maine Community College. The women jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half with 2 goals from freshman Michela Desjardins (Fort Kent, ME) and 2 goals from sophomore Bethany Gullbrand (Portland, ME). The Seawolves scored 7 goals in the second half. Desjardins tallied two more early in the half to go along with goals from Casey Garrapy (Underhill, VT), Lauren Rafford (Bangor, ME), Alexa Rivers (Durham, ME), Emily Bard (Fort Kent, ME), and Erica Desjardins (Saco, ME). Freshman Emmaleigh Hardy (Kalamazoo, MI) recorded her first career assist when her pass led to Rafford's goal in the 59th minute of the game.
The Seawolves defense held EMCC to just 1 shot on goal. Freshman keeper Erica Desjardins (Saco, ME) was credited with the save.
