Women’s Volleyball Closes Season In YSCC Semis

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Seawolves (7-10) rounded out the 2022 season with a straight-set loss to the Mustangs from Central Maine Community College (CMCC) in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) tournament semifinals on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Prior to the event, sophomore co-captain Rachel Pardi (Portland, Maine) was announced to the YSCC All-Conference Team.

SMCC lost the first set 25-21, with the final two sets finishing 25-11 and 25-10.

First-year Anna White (Buxton, Maine) led the way for SMCC with seven kills, an assist and seven digs. Pardi added two kills and three digs in her final match with the Seawolves, while sophomore Lillian Findlan (North Berwick, Maine) totaled three kills and a dig in her final match. Sophomore libero Emelia Lamie (Rochester, N.H.) closed out her SMCC career with three assists and four digs.

CMCC went on to beat #1 Paul Smith's College in the finals to be crowned conference champion.

Coach's Thoughts:

"Apart from picking up the win and playing in the finals, that was a great last match of the season for us. We have started to build something special with this program, and excited for another opportunity next season. We're going to miss our graduating players and wish them well in their futures!" – Head Coach Garrett Lewellen
