Year: Induction Class of 2023
Team: '18 Baseball

A three-year member of the baseball program (2015-18) and a three-time Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) champion. Amos Herrin contributed as a starting pitcher and as an exceptional shortstop— he was voted a two-time All-Conference selection and YSCC Pitcher of the Year in 2018. Herrin was dominant in post-season play at the plate and in the field, namely as Offensive Player of the Tournament (’17) and Tournament MVP (’18). Herrin was both a First Team United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) All-American and an Academic All-American in 2018, and led the nation in strikeouts (108) and k/9 (13.82) in the same season. During his time at SMCC, Herrin racked up 178 career strikeouts (2nd all-time) spanning 147.0 innings pitched and 10.9 k/9 (1st all-time). As a hitter, he totaled a .317 career average in 208 at-bats. Herrin was selected to the YSCC Twin Decades Team, a collection of the most talented players since the inception of the conference.

At the time of his induction, Herrin worked as an electrician here in Maine.
