SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Seawolves (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Wolverines from Bridgton Academy on Sunday, Sept. 25.

Sophomores Justin Colon (Aguada, Puerto Rico) and Gabriel Rivera (Caguas, Puerto Rico) each had a pair of singles for SMCC, who finished with six hits as a team. First-year Luke Wearne (Ellington, Conn.) and sophomore Sam Keblinsky (Mount Desert Island, Maine) both contributed a base-knock and first-year Ryan Thurber (South Portland, Maine) notched an RBI groundout in the fifth that scored Wearne.

First-year Kalin Marum (New South Wales, Australia) started the game on the mound for the Seawolves, tossing two innings and striking out five while walking three and giving up one hit. Sophomore Joseph Townsend (Scarborough, Maine) saddled the loss, pitching three innings of relief.

Coach's thoughts: "When we were able to get runners on base, we did a good job taking advantage of the few mistakes they made and turned over the scoreboard as a result. It's our first loss of the fall and know we'll bounce back quickly." – Head Coach Nic Lops.

Seawolves Stars of the Game:

Colon: 2-3, two walks, one stolen base
Rivera: 2-4 at the plate
Keblinsky: 1-2, one run, three walks
