WARWICK, Rhode Island – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball was shut out on the road at the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) 3-0 on Friday, Mar. 31.

Both teams started slow, leaving the first three innings scoreless. The Knights eventually managed a run in the fourth and scored another two in the sixth to earn the victory.

The Seawolves tallied five hits—first-year Dylan Sellinger (Auburn, Maine) collected one hit and one walk, and sophomores Justin Colon (Aguada, Puerto Rico) and Anthony Sayers (Benoni, South Africa) both knocked doubles.

CCRI's Sean Gallagher totaled two RBI and scored a run.

Seawolves pitcher Liam Jann (Philadelphia, Penn.) tossed 5.2 innings and allowed three runs, none earned, over five hits. Jann was taxed the loss; his counterpart Nate Kelly pitched seven complete innings to take the win.

The result moves SMCC to 6-8 overall.

Baseball will host the Owls from the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday, Apr. 1. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m.
