SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team swept the Bobcats from Bryant & Stratton- Syracuse on Saturday, Apr. 8.

Game 1: W, 5-1 | [BOX]

The Seawolves didn't waste any time scoring five runs in the first two innings. The Bobcats were able to score one run in the fourth but couldn't muster any more traction against a stifling SMCC pitching staff.

First-year Dylan Sellinger (Auburn, Maine) posted two hits, two RBI, and scored a run himself. First-year Liam Cooledge (Westbrook, Maine) had the other multi-hit game for the Seawolves in three plate appearances.

The Bobcats' Manuel Barboda scored the team's only run of the game.

First-year Thomas Knott (Winterport, Maine) started and pitched six strong innings for SMCC, allowing five hits and one walk, striking out five. The visitor Spencer Monroe went four innings and took the loss.

Game 2 (5 innings): W, 11-0 | [BOX]

The Seawolves' offense picked up right where it left off, getting out to a quick start to finish the game in five innings.

Sophomore Justin Colon (Aguada, Puerto Rico) was perfect at the dish, collecting two homeruns and a triple in as many trips. Sophomore captain Michael O'Brien (Franklin, Mass.) added to the homerun party, and Andrew Martin (Dracut, Mass.) knocked in two runners of his own in the third.

Sophomore starter Kalin Marum (New South Wales, Australia) struck out three over three innings and was credited the win; his counterpart Jacob Galvan was taxed the loss.

The result moves SMCC to 9-10 overall.
