BRIDGTON, Maine – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team took down the Wolverines of Bridgton Academy in non-conference action Tuesday, Apr. 11, 13-7.

The game was knotted 4-4 until SMCC strung together five runs in the eighth and four more in the ninth. The Wolverines showed some life in their final at-bats, but didn't have enough to complete the comeback.

Sophomore Justin Colon (Aguada, Puerto Rico) continued to produce, finishing the game with two hits, two runs, and a RBI. Colon also recorded three stolen bases to take over sole possession of the career record at SMCC (46).

First-year Ryan Thurber (South Portland, Maine) logged two hits to bring his season total to 22. He added three runs and two RBI to his stat line.

Bridgton's Nathan Leighton managed three runs and three hits while Jacob Redican ended with one run, one hit and two RBI.

Six different pitchers saw appearances on the hill for the Seawolves, but it was sophomore Kalin Marum (New South Wales, Australia) who was credited the win; Noah Grant on the other side took the loss.

The Seawolves jump to 12-10 overall.

Baseball will travel to NHTI on Friday, Apr. 14 to continue its conference schedule. First-pitch in Concord, N.H. is set for 3:30 p.m.
