BRDIGTON, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team completed the spring season sweep of Bridgton Academy defeating the Wolverines 12-11 on Thursday, Apr. 27.
In a post-game interview, Head Coach Nic Lops commented, "We were up, and then we were down. This team has shown a resilience all season; I'm proud of the way we kept swinging it against a talented Bridgton staff. The focus ahead needs to be keeping our lead in-tact, stressing effectiveness out of the pen and a sound approach defensively. I'm looking forward to the next three, a test that will determine playoff seeding."
The Seawolves start a new win streak and move to 17-15 overall.
SMCC begins its 3-game Yankee Small College Conference series with rival Central Maine Community College on Friday, Apr. 28. First-pitch in Auburn is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
