SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine— The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team earned its seventh straight win, defeating the Knights from the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) 13-1 on Friday, Apr. 26.

The Seawolves took an early lead and never looked back, scoring five runs in the first inning and added runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings.

SMCC's offense was led by Davis Kibler (Augusta, Maine), who connected for three hits and three RBIs, including a double. First-year Brady O'Lone (Fort Myers, Fl.) and sophomore co-captain Andrew Nielsen (Merrimack, N.H.) each contributed two RBIs.

Sophomore Gabe Aucoin (Bath, Maine) made an impressive start, allowing just the one run on four hits over a complete game performance (seven innings).

Owen Tabor scored the lone run for CCRI, while Rummy Ramos took the loss on the mound.

The result improves SMCC to 25-10 overall.

The Seawolves will play their last regular season home game on Sunday, Apr. 28 when they welcome the Warriors from Massasoit Community College. First pitch of the non-conference doubleheader is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
