CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) golf team recorded a second place finish on its home track at Purpoodock Golf Club on Sunday, Sept. 26.

Great Bay Community College (GBCC) totaled a team low 324, led by first and second place finishers Wade Paquette and Robbie Creteau. SMCC turned in a 342 followed by the University of Maine at Presque Isle (379) and NHTI (398). Also in attendance was York County Community College and the University of Maine at Augusta—both teams were disqualified with too few participants in attendance.

SMCC's Brian Perrault (Biddeford, Maine) fired an 82 for his third top-three finish of the year. The rest of the SeaWolves finished as follows:

Albert Doughty- 83
Zach Tremblay- 85
Henry Westphal- 92
Robert Caron- 103
Darian Harmon- 92
Nick Weiner- 99
Ben Parrone- 103

Head Coach AJ Burton commented, "Firstly, I want to thank Purpoodock for being a gracious host. As for the match, it was one of those rounds where playing with inclement weather made it more difficult on our approach shots and reading the greens. It's a great learning experience for our guys to play in that kind of environment and I'm looking forward to bouncing back this upcoming week down at Pease Golf Course."

The SeaWolves get back to action on Sunday, Oct. 3 at Pease Golf Course (Portsmouth, N.H.) for a 1:00 p.m. start time—a prequel to the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) championships on Saturday, Oct. 16.
