PORTSMOUTH, N.H.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) golf team took home first place for the third time this season in its three-team Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) match at Pease Golf Course on Sunday, Oct. 3.

SMCC fired a fall-best 325, nine strokes better than last week's winner Great Bay Community College (GBCC); NHTI tallied a third-place finish at 368.

First-year Brian Perrault (Biddeford, Maine) led his SeaWolves with a 75—his best score of the year, good for second in the individual circuit. Perrault recorded his fourth top-three finish spanning six matches.

The rest of the SMCC scoring went as follows:
Zach Tremblay- 78
Albert Doughty- 84
Henry Westphal- 88
Nick Weiner- 98

Head Coach AJ Burton stated, "Seeing how we bounced back from last weekend's home match, it showed that our guys are starting to play their best golf consistently. Being down a man in Sam Winslow for the past two matches gave opportunities for others to compete in scoring rounds. With two more matches remaining, I'm excited to see how we close out the season both at USCAA Nationals followed by the YSCC Championship match."

Next the SeaWolves will compete in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) two-day National Tournament event at Penn State University Oct. 10-12.
