Inman and Quigley lead men’s golf to another first place finish

LITCHFIELD, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's golf team traveled to The Meadows Golf Club for a match hosted by the University of Maine at Augusta, and snuck out a win over six other opponents.

In a tightly contested golf tournament, the Seawolves posted a winning score of 324. The team was led by sophomore Lucas Inman (South Portland, Maine) and first-year Matthew Quigley (Benton, Maine) who shot rounds of 80 each, providing a strong foundation. They were followed closely by teammates Owen Lee (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and Asa Buteau (Scarborough, Maine) who contributed rounds of 81 and 83. First-year Alexander Watts (Saco, Maine) rounded out the scoring with an 88. Consistent performances across the board secured the victory for the team, capping off a successful tournament.

SMCC looks to stay on track this week as they travel to Waterville on Tuesday, Sept. 17 to participate in the University of Maine at Farmington Invitational.
