Seawolves Fall to CCRI in Season Opener

South Portland - The Seawolves hung tough for the first 45 minutes of yesterday's soccer contest but ran out of steam in the second half as they were overcome by the Knights of CCRI, 4-0.

A tough defensive battle landed the teams at a 0-0 tie as they entered the the break. Nine minutes into the second half the Knights' found the back of the net for the first time to give themselves a 1-0 advantage. That one goal cuased the CCRI offense to heat up as they poured in three more goals to take the 4-0 victory. 

The CCRI defense played an impressive game, allowing the Seawolves only one shot. The Knights' managed 19 shots, 11 of those were saved by SMCC keeper Drew Martin (Berwick, ME). 

The Seawolves (1-0, 0-0 YSCC) will be back in action on Saturday on the road at Vermont Technicaal College at 3pm.
