SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team took the defending Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Lynx from NHTI into two extra-time periods to eventually draw 1-1 at Wainwright on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
The SeaWolves gave an early one away on a bouncing ball that was delivered over the back four by Andre Sturgeon and tracked down by Blaise Masumbuko at 14:29 to give NHTI a 1-0 advantage.
Senior Patrick Duddy (Sedgwick, Maine) converted a penalty kick as the result of an NHTI foul at 63:31 to even the score at 1-1.
The SeaWolf offense totaled another four shots in each of the two 10-minute extra-time periods but were held scoreless in their efforts.
First-year goalie and last week's USCAA GK of the Week selection Camden Labrecque (Saco, Maine) notched nine more saves, now 44 on the season, in 110:00 minutes of work.
